Let it snow! – Happy Holidays from CPC

Wednesday, November 28th, 2012

“Sleigh bells ring…are you listenin’?” – I sure hope so!

The holiday season is upon us once again. Between our busy work schedules and the frenzy of preparations for holiday festivities, we sometimes forget that this is, in fact, a time for celebration. Remember, we shouldn’t let the season get away from us too quickly. Be sure to take some time over your holidays to cozy up with some cocoa and a good book, or put on your mitts and boots and go out and play! (Adults are allowed to do this too!) It’s time to re-energize and prepare for an exciting new year.

The CPC team is looking forward to an exciting 2013 with great new open-house events and member tele-networking sessions.  We would like to share some of these plans with you in our next tele-networking callcall: Welcome to CPC 2013.

On behalf of the CPC team, I would like to thank you all for your support in 2012. With the new programs launching, it has a been year of transition for us. We appreciate your feedback and participation that has helped drive us forward. You not only make this community work, you make it the place to be!

Wishing you every success for 2013!

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum…

Monday, June 6th, 2011

PROFESSIONAL Members, have you visited your Career Club lately?  We’ve been witnessing a flurry of activity over the last few weeks. Great new discussion topics are popping up daily, covering everything from typo pet peeves to effective action verbs, and recruiter/candidate etiquette to small business management.

Are you taking a vacation this summer? What do you think about Retirement Coaching as a Niche? And, how do you inspire your clients? Share your thoughts on the forum and learn more about your fellow CPCers.

All the best,

Melanie Schlotter

Congratulations CPC Advisors!

Monday, April 18th, 2011

Earlier this month, at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Career Management Alliance announced their 2011 award recipients. The CMA Awards recognize top performers in our industry, and it gives me great pleasure to announce that three of CPC’s advisors were part of the powerful competition:

  • Wayne Pagani: Mentor Award Recipient
  • Sharon Graham: Bridge Award Recipient
  • Daisy Wright: What Color Is Your Parachute Award Nominee

“Again this year we honour our industry’s high achievers – colleagues who have taught us, inspired us, and brought us together, with acknowledgements of  their superior performance.” ~ Career Management Alliance

A full listing of all recipients may be found here. Congratulations to all nominees and recipients – this is just another example of the great things that CPC members can accomplish.

All the best,

Melanie Schlotter

Introducing CPC’s 2011 Advisory Board Members

Monday, March 21st, 2011

Oscar Wilde once said;
“The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on. It is never any use to oneself.”

We are very proud of our generous members who heeded that sound advice and have volunteered their time for positions on Career Professionals of Canada’s 2011 Advisory Board.

With varied backgrounds and specialties, we trust that we have a brilliant, well rounded team and are confident in their abilities to help this organization continue to grow and develop as the leading organization for Canadian Career Practitioners.
